FitFlops: A Portable Gym
I’m an extremely lazy person. I used to be a cheerleader, and that’s how I got my workout. It was fun and didn’t feel like I was doing work; I’m not the type of person that willingly goes myself to the gym. Lately, the extent of my work out has been walking around NYC or the mall. Sometimes I even add extra difficulty by wearing heels instead of flats, but walking around New York in heels can be quite painful if your not careful.
Luckily, my problem may be solved. A UK based company has come up with a genius idea called the FitFlop. They are flip flops that work your legs and bum while you walk, and you don’t have to worry about killing your feet in heels. According to the website, “The FitFlop’s uniquely built multi-density midsole activates muscles midstep to help tone your thighs, your calves and your glutes. In fact, FitFlops are biomechanically engineered to absorb shock, lessen joint strain, and recreate the gait of barefoot walking – but with a powerful new built-in micro-wobbleboard workout-enhancing effect.” If these shoes work anything like squats on a wobbleboard, I am so in.
If you’re in the UK you probably already know all about FitFlops and exactly where to get them, but we in the US are totally out of the loop. Thankfully, Bath & Body Works has our backs. You can buy them online here for $39.95. Now if only there was a non-sports-sandal design, I’d buy one in every color!
EDIT: Bath & Body Works has sold out of FitFlops online, but here is a link to a list of all the Bath & Body Works stores that carry them (in limited quantities). Also Bliss online will begin selling them on July 13th, but I would suggst you pre-order them now because they are going quickly!
