With tons of talk about magazines folding due to lack of readers and ads, Allure is taking cautionary measures to make sure we aren’t without a good beauty mag.
The August issue of Allure is officially the “Free Stuff Issue” (as of last year). Anytime I see the words FREE, I get utterly psyched, and apparently the advertising companies know this. Allure‘s ad pages are the highest they’ve ever been for August which is great for them, but as consumers how does this work in our favor? Well, attached to many of these ads are free samples. That’s right, tons of trial versions of all those “I wonder if they really work” beauty products.
