Pre-Fall Shoegasm

Chelsea Rae Simmons | Fall/Winter,Shoes | Wednesday, 25 July 2007

Fall is nearing, as dreadful as that sounds, but that happens to be the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Though I love summer more than any season climate-wise, fall is the best season for clothes. It isn’t too cool or warm making layering the best option, and it is completely okay to wear suede shoes which is perfect, considering my new found lust of these Miu Miu two-tone pumps from Net-A-Porter.com.

Both black shoes and grey shoes are great staples for any one’s wardrobe, but putting those colors together adds a little flare to something so banal.

The pumps give off a bit of an 80s feel by having a rounded toe box with a v at the front. Gosh, 80s were such a great time retrospectively! Though the toe of the shoe is totally noteworthy, the heel is my favorite part by far. Aside from the fact you would gain about 4 1/2 inches when you wear these babies, I absolutely adore the black and grey patent leather gradient on the heel, swoon!

I wonder if someone would buy these for me for my birthday in the fall!

Stand Under Her Umbrella

Chelsea Rae Simmons | Accessories,Celebrities,Umbrellas | Tuesday, 24 July 2007

I’m sure everyone has heard the catchy song by Rihanna called “Umbrella”. You know the one where you can’t help but sing along to the semi-annoying chorus, “you can stand under my umberella-ella-ella…”. Now, not only can you stand under Rihanna’s umbrella, you can also buy it.

That’s right Rihanna has launched her own umbrella line with clothing company Totes. The Rihanna Umbrella collection has five umbrellas that come in multiple colors.

It isn’t quite a clothing line, but I personally appreciate this much more than an American Idol clothing line. At least this is useful!

Picture Post: Jean Paul Gaultier F/W ’07-’08

Chelsea Rae Simmons | Ad Campaigns | Monday, 23 July 2007

I just love these pictures of Gemma Ward and Boyd Holbrook for Jean Paul Gaultier’s Fall/Winter 2007-08 collection. I think kilts are completely humorous for some reason, and the sharpie ‘stache look on Boyd is completely amusing. I also think Boyd would be absolutely gorgeous if I were still attracted to clean-cut, pretty boys, but unfortunately that space in my heart has been filled with oddly grungy rockers.

Even though most of the clothes I wouldn’t wear unless paid, I really do like the black dress Gemma is wearing on the left.

Please, Just Stop!

Chelsea Rae Simmons | News | Monday, 23 July 2007

Ameriacn Idol is great in a way. The first couple weeks are hilarious, and I’m sure the rest of the season is fun too (I tend to stop watching after the casting episodes). But, why, WHY, does E Online have an article about Lyric Culture coming out with an American Idol inspired fashion line called Lyrix by Lyric Culture?

The whole celeb fashion line thing was a little annoying, but I was generally okay with it. This, on the other hand, is taking things to a whole different level. It isn’t even as if they’re going to design clothes that fit each contestants “personal style”. It will be tees and such with lyrics from the songs the contestants sing on the show (other peoples songs, mind you) or slogans that people have come up with for various contestants. God save us all! I can just see a slew of young girls running around with Clay Aiken’s silly face on their shirt.

The line is going to be in girls and junior girls sizes initially, but unfortunately they do plan to expand the line. For anyone who is completely offended by my views and is a die hard American Idol fan, the launch of the clothing line will coincide with the start of the seventh season in February . At least I’ll have time to prepare!

10 Points to Gryffindor!

Chelsea Rae Simmons | My Style | Friday, 20 July 2007

A couple of weeks ago, I had a genius idea, and decided I was going to drag my siblings to the Harry Potter Borders Release Party. It was a joke at first, but now I think it might be a good idea. They’re having a costume contest for goodness sake! I’m definietly not going out to find a black robe and a wand, but I was thinking about dressing “festively” yet casually. Its going to be full of little kids, so who am I trying to impress? So, this is the Gryffindor-esque outfit I came up with. The best part is everything can be worn separately, and every piece is under $50!

Now all I have to do is decide who’s cuter Daniel Radcliffe or Rupert Grint!
