In every group or community there are people that stand out for one reason or another. In the rock community, the majority of the musicians are male, so where does that leave us females? There are some that choose to break the stereotype and kill it on stage every night, but there has always been the other option if you want to rise to the top. There are many instances where people have become “famous” for who they know, and that is no different here. Many times fame isn’t that person goal, but it comes none the less. The key to whether you stay at the top is what you do with your new found influence.
In rock scenes of the past these girls might have been categorized as groupies, but whether or not they actually fit the bill is a different story. In today’s rock scene though, they and many others are referred to as being “e-famous”. The ones I take interest in are more likely to be doing something productive with their lives than hanging onto some rockstars arm. One of these go getters is Jac Vanek.
Why tons of screaming rock fans love her or hate her doesn’t truly matter to me, what matters is what she has done with this interest in her life. She’s taken her e-fame and like her celebrity counterparts tried her hand at starting a clothing line called “by Jac Vanek”, but unlike most of the other celebs she decided to stick to what she knows and asked others what they would actually purchase (what a novel idea). So far she has come up with 3 different kinds of bracelets (one of which is actually a set of two bracelets) and two different tees.

To be quite honest, she is off to a good start. She is creating clothing and accessories that she likes, and also satisfy her the core demographic. The line may not satiate your typical fashionista’s palette, but what’s typical anyway. The bracelets which are inscribed with words like ruthless, erase, and ultra violence are bound to catch some one’s attention, and the t-shirts which sport a pimped out skull and the word bogus scrawled across it are funky and fun. The best part is nothing is overly pricey.
You can buy any one of Jac’s creations at a new web boutique called The Killer Candy Store, where you can also find creations from Tara Manson, radio DJ, viral marketing coordinator, and owner of The Killer Candy Store. Whether you’ve never heard of these people before, have heard of them and careless, love them, or hate them, you have to respect them for doing something with what was given to them.
