Who’s Stoked for the VMAs?
It is once again that time. The hottest names in music gather in one city to party and accept little silver moonmen. That’s right, today is the 2007 VMAs, and crazy things are bound to happen. Though a moonman may not be the most sought after award, the MTV Video Music Awards is definitely the most influential music awards show around today.
The nominees this year are comsi comsa on my opinion. I think there are a lot better artist that could have been nominated in most of the categories, but they didn’t get a nomination because their video didn’t go to number on TRL or some crap like that. That being said, the few artist I do like on ballot definitely deserve to win (obviously). I won’t drop names because it might be bad luck or something, though I will say I want Gym Class Heroes to win ‘Best Knew Artist’. I’ve voted for them about a billion times already.
Though the nominees aren’t so stellar, there are going to be a ton of rad performances, some of which will be performing in the fantasy suits at The Palms Hotel and Casino in Vegas. The performers I’m looking forward to are Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes, Foo Fighters, Kanye West, Timbaland, and of course Britney Spears who is opening the show. That is either going to be the best thing ever because the performance is killer or the best thing ever because the performance is terrible, either way I’ll have a smile on my face. Not only will there be rad performances, the fabulous Mark Ronson is also going to be DJing all night long, so get ready!
