Betsey Johnson: Spring 2008

My Prom kind of sucked, both times. Yup, I went to Prom twice, and I had a miserable time twice. Ask me one day, and maybe I’ll tell you the details, but for now, I’ve decided my Prom wouldn’t have been so wretched if Betsey Johnson was involved.

This season Betsey’s entire collection was about Prom, and what a prom it would have been if everyone was dressed in BJ. She adorned the models in dresses inspired by every decade. Girls trotted down the runway in everything from fifties dresses with giant crinolines to a red, white, and blue dress commemorating 9/11 (she showed on Sept. 11th).

We couldn’t help but to ooh and ahh at each dress, even if we wouldn’t have worn them to prom; they were all just so beautiful. We were also really stoked BJ loves fakey flowers in the hair just as much as we do. More than one model came down the runway with over-sized floral arrangements on top of their heads and we jumped for joy.
All of those girls who still have a chance to go to Prom, this collection is a great place to start looking for inspiration, or you could technically wait until spring and just buy these Betsey dresses. Either way, you’ll be the bell of the ball!

  • A lot of the 70s style bohemian dress (like the one in the middle) are being sold on her website. I'm not sure if the pink one will be sold exactly as it was one the runway, but I'm sure there will be some version of that dress either on the Betsey Johnson website.

    will they be sold in betsey johnson stores this spring ? or am i gonna have to order it? because i love the black and hot pink one
  • I'm not exactly sure how much that dress costs-- the dresses aren't being sold yet because they are from the spring 2008 collection, but you can check out www.betseyjohnson.com. There are tons of great dresses on her site!

    Yeahhh, how much is that dress!! the yellow one because it is perfet for my prom and I adore it and I want it it's soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo PERFECT and I have been dreaming about this dress for like 3 years and it's exactly everything I have been looking for!!

    This collection definitely wasn't as grandiose as RL, but it is so much fun. I love Betsey Johnson because all of her collections are so girlie and vibrant.
