Isaac Mizrahi Back on TV
The CW Network has obviously had its ups and downs. One of its major ups is America’s Next Top Model. Each week, millions of people sit in front of their television with baited breathe waiting to find out who will get kicked off. With the obvious success of Top Model, many other networks have jumped on the fashion reality tv train, but CW wants to take it to a new level with the help of the comeback kid, Isaac Mizrahi.
Isaac will be co-executive producing a one-hour “scripted project” called The Collection, based of Mizrahi’s experiences. An article from zap2it.com says the show will “use the fashion world as a backdrop” to address social issues, Elisa Bell, the writer and executive producer of the show, says these social issues will include: “racism, giant egos, fragile relationships, drugs, conflict of ethics and sexuality,” Bell goes on to say, “The fashion world operates in our show as a microcosm of American society. Regardless of how you feel about fashion, everyone is a member of the club, because at the start of every day, we all get dressed.”
This sounds like an intriguing idea, but can it actually be pulled off? If anything, the hour will pass quickly due to Isaac’s always amusing wit and laissez-faire attitude.
