30 Items Every Woman Needs
![]() |
I’m sorry for my absence lately, it’s finals time and I’ve been extremely distracted by the knowledge school will be ending soon. The end of the semester is always a bitter sweet time, because though school is ending, I also know this will put a definite damper the easy access social life you get while in school. But this is beside the point, I just read an article from timeonline.co.uk which lists 30 items every woman must have in her wardrobe. The 30 items are:
| 1. A clutch bag | 11. A beret | 21. A statement Necklace |
| 2. A jewelry box | 12. A little Black Dress | 22. Jeans |
| 3. Leather gloves | 13. A Large Cocktail Ring | 23. Kirby Grips (bobby pins) |
| 4. A wide patent belt | 14. A sequin bolero | 24. Red nail varnish |
| 5. A good pair of tailored trousers | 15. A diamond ring | 25. A blazer |
| 6. Volumizing Mascara | 16. A plain cashmere jumper (sweater) | 26. A winter coat |
| 7. A silk camisole | 17. A pair of support knickers (supportive underwear) | 27. Simple swimwear |
| 8. A vintage brooch | 18. One plunge bra/one seamless bra | 28. A good hair dryer |
| 9. Silk Slippers | 19. Flat black boots | 29. Silk underwear/nightwear |
| 10. An Umbrella | 20. Simple court shoes (practical shoes with a small heel, think The Queen) | 30. A crisp white shirt |
The list is great and all, but I can help think does this mean my life is incomplete without everything on this list. I don’t have a pair of flat black boots. I go to the store try on a ton of different pairs and then leave; I don’t like how they look on me. And, what about those items I have, but never wear and truly doubt I would ever wear, like court shoes. I have a pair, my parents bought for me so I would be comfortable walking around campus in heels, but if I’m going to wear high heels the heel needs to be at least 3 inches. I constantly forgo comfort for style, and that’s life.
Also, what about the things they left off. I think they should have a good pair of hair cutting scissors. I’m not suggesting you cut your own hair, but I always like to have a pair around in case I haven’t planned a hair appointment and there are a few split ends ruining my hair style. SNIP SNIP, and I’m on my way.
And, what about the basic t-shirt? I don’t think I could live without having a plain monochromatic tee; whether it happens to be in white, black, navy, eggshell, or whatever color, I think its a staple.
So my real question is, can you actually widdle all life’s “necessities” down to 30 items? What items would you add or subtract from the list?
