Blackwell’s Worst-Dressed Women of 2007

Chelsea Rae Simmons | Celebrities,News,Think About It | Wednesday, 09 January 2008

Pink Rock Candy, Victoria Beckham

Mr. Blackwell has released his latest Worst Dressed List, and without thinking twice he marked Victoria Beckham as #1. Many are completely stunned, because VB has made quite a splash with the fashion obsessed. Most of us love classic pieces, but know one cannot live on classics alone— sometimes wearing bold colors/prints, super short minis, and maybe even a metallic legging or two keeps the fashionable mind from going crazy.

I’m not saying I haven’t looked at a picture or two of Victoria Beckham and thought, “What the hell does she have on!?”, but the same goes for everyone from Chloe Sevigny to Gwen Stefani to Cate Blanchet. Perhaps the only person whose sanity I haven’t questioned at times is Rachel Bilson who seems to always dress perfectly, as annoying as it is.

The other choice Mr. Blackwell made that I must scoff at is Mary Kate Olsen, who he place at #3. Sure her recent giant diaper and Barbie heels outfit may have been odd, but as a whole I and most others like her style. I don’t condone the ‘I haven’t washed my hair in a month’ look or the fact that she wears fur more often than I would like, but I can’t hold that against her.

Finally, its been said before, and it will be said again and again, “WHAT ABOUT BRITNEY SPEARS!” Feel bad for her mental problems, and personal strife, but don’t let that keep you from pointing out the fact that every single outfit she wears is a fashion don’t. Sorry to be so mean, but its true.

See the complete list below…

Mr. Blackwell’s 48th Annual Worst-Dressed Women List

10.) Alison Arngrim: Little Nellie of the prairie, looks like a 1940′s fashion editor for the Farmers Almanac.

9.) Lindsay Lohan: Lindsay the fashion frenzy strikes again! Lohan takes fashion to a new low -

8.) Jessica Simpson: Forget the Cowboys. In prom queen screams, can it get any worse? She’s a global fashion curse!

7.) Avril Lavigne: Gothic make-up courtesy the mad spatula-Fashions provided by…The house of Dracula!

6.) Eva Green: Stuck in neon nightmares not fit for the sane. Fashion this loud could give Bond a migraine! A profusion of confusion from toes to nose!

5.) Kelly Clarkson: Her heavenly voice soars above the rest…but those belly-baring bombs are hellish at best! She may be the queen of “Pro-Active” – but that wardrobe looks downright radioactive!

4.) Fergie: Another style-free “Fergie” in fashion’s hall of shame? Yes, when it comes to couture chaos, guess it’s all in a name!

3.) Mary Kate Olsen: YIKES! In layers of cut-rate kitsch, Mary Kate’s look is hard to explain…she resembles a tattered toothpick-trapped in a hurricane!

2.) Amy Winehouse: Exploding beehives above…tacky polka-dots below…she’s part 50′s car-hop horror.

1.) Victoria Beckham: Forget the fashion spice – wearing a skirt would suffice! In one skinny-mini monstrosity after another, pouty posh can really wreck-em.

Fabulous Fashion Independents for 2007:

Reese Witherspoon, Jemima Khan, Beyonce, Angelina Jolie, Helen Mirren, Nicole Kidman, Katie Holmes, Kate Middleton, Katherine Heigl and Cate Blanchett.

Ahh Mr. Blackwell’s list! It’s funny he tends to pick people who generally are fashionable but who take risks which I think can often be a good thing! Vicky Beckham sometimes can look classy and really well put together (despite being a robot , I kid!) but sometimes she throws together some seriously tragic combinations. But what is fashion without a few road bumps? BORING! ;)
