Man vs. Machine…er Model

Pink Rock Candy, pinkrockcanndy.net, Marchesa Resort 2008, SAG Awards, Amanda Bynes

How exactly does one ruin a gorgeous Marchesa dress? Ask Amanda Bynes. She didn’t physically ruin the dress, at least I don’t think, but the essence of the gown definitely wasn’t there. At the SAG Awards, Miss Bynes wore a beauty of a teal, strapless Marchesa gown from the 2008 resort collection. Unfortunately for Amanda, the dress made her look like she was going to the prom. Unless I have things mixed up, I don’t think the red carpet is anything like the prom, though some seem to think otherwise.

I think this may be one of those times when a dress does look better on a hanger or a model who might as well be a hanger than on an actual person, and lets face it, Amanda Bynes is a real girl with a normal dress size, not like Miss Double Zero herself, Eva Longoria-Parker. The top of her dress seemed to squeeze her chest in and the empire waist made her look shorter. Though I’m not saying I could wear the dress any better than Amanda did (at 5′4″ there’s no doubt in my mind she’s at least a few inches taller than me), but I didn’t like that dress on her very much.

Who wore it better, the model or Amanda Bynes?
