Just like Brit, I also work at Hollister and what she says is correct. You are one of the many customers who asks for items on the mannequins! If the item is no longer in the store, it’s because the clothes on the mannequins DO sell out very quickly. We also cannot sell those clothes because they’re used by our visual team for display only. And most of the time, those clothes ARE damaged or stretched in some way. In the Hollister that I work at, the clothes on the mannequins are sometimes all cut up to created a desired “look” or have holes in them because we stick sensors and clips on them so that they don’t fall off the mannequins. Sorry for any inconvenience! Hollister usually updates the mannequins after whatever clothing on the mannequins gets sold out.

As for the associate who told you to go “search for it if you want” he/she should’ve really helped you look for it instead of making you search for a needle in a haystack.

okay…. let me set something straight

hollister is not expensive. they have shirts for $8 bucks. only the stuff that just got off the line is expensive, and is always in the first room. just go to the other rooms and -tadaa- thats where the cheap stuff is.

i actually dont shop at hollister anymore because it labels you as a 7th-8th grade girl who wants to be cool. forever 21, pacsun, and delia’s are my shops of choice because they have unique clothing.

so stop ripping on hollister and get the facts straight….and if ur addicted to it maybe try and shop somewhere else where the name of the store is printed across ur ta-tas.

Hollister is sooo smart- getting all u lemmings to buy their cheesy thin shirts and overpriced jeans just coz u hav 2 hav a name brand on. They laff at u each time the cash registers go cha ching!!!

And those stupid manequins with that bump in their crotch with the pants falling down like u girls are interested in that look, like u are hookers who can’t figure out they r trying to use u 2 sexualize u and get u hooked on wearing crap that tells the world u are easy and cheap and not worth a great guy or girl’s effort!!

Y do u think they have that colgone drifting out of their stores so u will come on in and drop $100 on 2 items of clothing? Wake ^ up lemmings!!

Hi, if you cant tell by my name im a girl and i shop at hollister, acctually i was there the other day because they were having a good sale on sweatshirts but anyway i always look at the mannequins and think about how cute their outfits look but i know better than to ask if they have the items. but i like the store only when they have sales its not that im poor its just that i have better things to spend my money on and there is nothing wrong with thrift stores you just have to be picky. and for the people who think that its desgusting to shop at thrift stores then think twice before you borrow your friends clothes.

Wow! What a reaction. First things first, I completely respect everyone’s opion whether it’s for or against Hollister. Secondly, to hollister lover chelsea rae all of my comments link back to the PRC homepage. I also have an affinity for capitalizing proper nouns, and I hate using the letter “u” instead of “you”. Also, I’m not exactly sure how my disdain for Hollister equals being “poor.” I’m not “rich,” but I’ve never wanted for anything, and if I was rich I definitely wouldn’t be caught dead in a store that sell over-priced, poor quality garments, most of which branded with the name of the store.

p.s. Excessive punctuation is beyond annoying!

The reason that they do not take clothing and accessories from the “forms” is because all Hollister (and ANF) stores have a proprietary set up. Everything from the music that you hear to the cologne that you smell is “set” to create the atmosphere. To take something from a form would be to change that set up. The store would than be out of uniform with all of the other stores.

I don’t know about “dirty, but they were right about the “stretched” clothing. ANF has even been known to cut the clothing on the forms to accomplish a desired “look”. Regardless of what they say you can’t have something for, it’s to keep the uniform of the store.

P.S. As far as “over-priced”? Hollister is cheap. Try Abercrombie or Ruehl, they are over-priced, but that’s a point of wearing it, yah.

Mkay..well I work at Hollister and the stuff on the mannequins always sell out faster. Or go on clearance and we don’t get anymore shipped in. Other stores might carry it or there might be more online. If the employees know it’s in the store it’s up to them to sell the item to you. But when it’s not, they direct you to other stores or online.

And we do rip and stretch stuff to make it look tight fitted on the mannequins. Once they’re removed we end up sending them back because we can’t sell them.

Oh please! Well I love Hollister. So whatever. Next time if you dont like the store dont enter it please. Y would you go into a store if your gonna go out of your way to make a website about it? Well thats all I have to say. And im going to continue to shop there. FYI go get a credit card so you can actually buy the clothes off the mannequins if its that serious!

Really! At least though at H&M they said you could have it after the mannequin is done with it. I’m not even sure what they do with the clothes when they take them off the mannequins at Hollister. I definitely don’t shop there enough to want to find out.
