Out of the thousands of blogs on this thing we call the interweb, you've landed on Pink Rock Candy. Why? Because we rock— I mean, because you're either really interested in fashion and/or music, or because you were looking for a good recipe to make pink rock candy. Unfortunately, I can't help you with the latter, but I'm addicted to fashion and music so click around. If you don't find what your looking for, send me and email at pinkrockfashion@gmail.com and tell me to get on my J-O-B!

GO International with Richard Chai

Pink Rock Candy, Target GO International, Richard Chai

Every few months the blogosphere goes crazy about a new Target GO International designer. I personally have stopped getting as excited about each new collection— I’ve actually stopped going the day the collection is released to check it out, but I still like to see which designer they’ve chosen and what has been designed. This time designer Richard Chai is in the hot seat. Per usual there are pieces I love, pieces I like, and pieces I probably would have seen at Target even if they didn’t have Richard Chai designing them.

The quasi theme for Richard Chai’s GO International collection is ’sophisticated separates’. That term always reminds me of watching my grandma shop in the petites section of Crowley’s— does anyone remember that store? Luckily, Mr. Chai’s idea of ’sophisticated separates’ is nothing like the pale colored cardigan and shell top my grandmother would buy.

Pale colors and cardigan bashing aside, I think I may need the over-sized, grandpa style cardigan from this line and those pale purple (lavender?) corduroy skinnies!

I love the bright colors in the collection, and hope the colors translate in real life and that they aren’t made with that weird vinyl type fabric in the first Private Label collection. I also really, really like the plaid trench, but I have a feeling everyone is going to do their best to get their hands on it so, I probably won’t buy it. I might however, get the plaid dress depending on fit— I wonder how a belt would look with those pockets?

What are your thoughts about the GO International collections, have they gone downhill or has the novelty just worn off. What are your favorite pieces in this collection?
