Looking Forward to ’09 with Hayden-Hartnett

Bloggers seem to be buzzing about Hayden-Harnett’s diffusion handbag line at Target coming this December, but my 2008 has been so utterly disastrous not even $50 designer-ish bags can make me feel better. All I want to do is look to next year and hope for better luck. That being said, I’m not immune to the charms of Brooklyn-based label Hayden-Hartnett and would love to kick 2009 off wearing one of their frocks.
To be honest, I hadn’t heard of Hayden-Hartnett before their Target collaboration, and if I had, I don’t remember it. So, instead of being that spaz who pretends she knows about everything “cool” even if she’s doesn’t know a lick of background info, I decided to head straight to the Hayden-Hartnett website and get a feel for the clothes.
Though I knew Hayden-Hartnett was best known for their bags, I couldn’t help ignoring the urge to view their adorable handbag creations and skip right to the dresses. Usually when I like the dresses a designer creates, I tend to like everything they design. The first thing that caught my eye was this fantastic ‘Laurel Leather Trim Party Dress’. It was simple and enchanting, garnering it a top spot in my list of dresses I’d love to rock on New Year’s Eve.
Sure, I know that it’s a strapless dress and the East Coast usually sees snow on December 31st, but I figure I’ll be inside comfy warm house and won’t have to worry about exterior weather conditions. Plus, that’s what coats are for right?
I’ve started to compile a list of my dream NYE dresses on Pronto.com, the dresses range from just under $30 to over $650. I guess you can say I don’t have any idea what I really want, but all the dresses definitely have a bit of panache.
