My New Hobby

Chelsea Rae Simmons | Accessories,Fashion,Necklaces | Monday, 19 October 2009
pink rock candy, necklaces i created

I’m really starting to enjoy making jewelry for myself. I feel much better about spending money if I can say I only spent $40 and made 3 necklaces with material to spare. Actually, I did spend on $40 and I did make 3 necklaces and I do have material to spare.

These two are my favorite of the three necklaces I made over the weekend.

Keep an eye out to see how I mix these new jewels into my wardrobe.

  • Oooh I love the first one. So pretty. Are you thinking of making some to sell?

  • Thanks, ladies! I’m not sure if I have the time to make enough jewelry to sell. Right now I’m just making it for my own use, unless someone emails me and asks me super, super nicely to make them something. If I do start making jewelry for profit, my lovely PRC readers will be the first to know!

LOVE D.I.Y. necklaces, and those are amazing. I’m sure you could sell, but that jewelry probably pays for itself in compliments! My fave is putting together handmade jewelery with old thrifted necklaces – you can make something priceless for under $20!
