About Pink Rock Candy
Pink Rock Candy
Pink Rock Candy is a fashion-focused blog with occasional music-related musings. Started in December 2006, PRC has evolved from a medium for, founder, Chelsea Rae Simmons (me), to rant about fashion trends to a virtual scrapbook of the fashion industry and its intermingling in my life.
I and Pink Rock Candy have also been featured on the TeenVOGUE blog, in the August/September 2009 issue of Fringe Indie magazine, and in the September 2009 issue of Lipstick Royalty magazine. She was also asked by Lord & Taylor to style a prom display at their New York City flagship store for the 2009 prom season.
Chelsea Rae
Born November 8th, 1988, in Detroit, MI, I spent my youth dreaming of saving aquatic life, until I caught the fashion bug after moving from the Mid-West to the East Coast.
On this crazy road called life, I developed a penchant for feathers, fashion magazines, classic rock-and-roll, sky-high “on your back” heels— thank you, Kelly Cutrone— and guys with musical talent, preferably bassists— I have no idea why.
Sometimes my brain to mouth filter is broken, but I usually get away with it because— well, I’m cute— isn’t that the excuse every girl uses while swearing like a sailor?
Though I began university as a Marine Biology major, I will leave as a Public Relations major, French minor, with intent of working in Fashion PR. I have interned for 31 Corn Lane, Tractenberg & Co., and Twinkle by Wenlan.
