Get the Look: Naeem Khan

Pink Rock Candy, Naeem Khan inspired look

I know I haven’t been around for a while, but for as long as I’ve been absent or longer, this Naeem Khan byzantine-inspired look has been on my mind and computer.

With all the sparkly treasures on Khan’s website, it’s sort of strange, ferret me is fawning over this understated, in comparison, look. Something about the embroidered skirt reminds me of the pink russian doll-esque Plenty by Tracy Reese coat that practically made me salivate on my monitor over the summer. (Side Note: I saw a girl wearing that coat on the subway and I almost ran after her to profess my love, but then realized the coat is actually really lightweight and not good for the winter).

Also, as fancy and completely unnecessary as I used to think lacy was, when done right, it can look really classic and sexy— nothing like great grandma’s wedding dress.

In light of all this, my budget is a little less than that of a person who can purchase Naeem Khan (read: a whole truck load less), so like most good fashionistas— or is it recessionistas now— I decided to look for something that is cheaper but still retains the spirit of the inspiring look.

With the help of my friends, Topshop, Kohls, and Forever21, I’ll be able to get a Naeem Khan-esque look for under $100.
