It’s no secret feathers are no longer strictly for cheesy neon boas and children’s Halloween masks. They’re everywhere from jewelry, to headbands, to dresses and skirts. Marc Jacobs, never to shy away from a bit of pizzazz, sent many feathered pieces down the Spring/Summer 2009 Louis Vuitton runway, but if you aren’t ready for a completely feather wardrobe, you can get a taste of the trend with a little trim.
Your Slip Is Showing, a fantastic company that specializes in fancy trimmed slips, features a few feather slips in their “Madam!” Fall ‘09. One never to shy away from a bit of kitsch, I’d love to buy the ostrich feather and rhinestone, ‘Madam! Salt and Pepper Slip’. The Your Slip Is Showing slips range from $100 to $300.
So, if you’d rather try the dressed in feather trend out without any guilt, you can spend $27.80 at Forever 21 on the ‘Feather Hem Dress’ and get the same effect. If you happen to love the look, then by all means, spend your little heart out on the amazing YSIS slips.
Why do I love Heidi Klum? Let me count the ways…
- She is the host of one of my all time favorite TV shows, Project Runway (for those who live under a rock)
- She’s a Victoria’s Secret Angel, and I’ve wanted to be one since I was a little girl (that won’t ever happen)
- She’s had about 50 billion children and she still has a better body than me (okay, maybe that makes me jealous, but in a good way)
- She totally started the whole spelling “offed” like “auf’d” (never will you see me doing this, but…)
- Because of #2, she probably knows what Victoria’s secret actually is. (I assume the secret has to do with her being able to shed the baby wait in about 5 days.)
- Finally, I love Heidi because of this video from TMZ.
In the video she’s Heidi’s touching her boobs and talking about being nipplely. She also states the obvious by saying she has great knockers (her words not mine). This may also be a part of Victoria’s have-the-perfect-body secret, self-realization. If we all go around saying we have great knockers and talking about our nipples, we might all have bodies perfect enough that we too will be nicknamed “The Body”. Actually, I think this might have just been bloopers for part of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show commercial (the fashion show airs on Dec. 4), but its funny none the less.
A few pictures of Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Agent Provocateur ad campaign have come out and we think they’re great! She has always had that closet sex bomb thing going on, and we knew she’d rock the sexy lingerie to no end.On a side note, wasn’t she just pregnant a few months ago? So many celebs are having babies lately they all blur together, but I’m sure it wasn’t too long ago. Its nothing like a good half-naked photoshoot to inspire a girl to hit the gym after they have a baby!
