Goodies For Lost Girls

Chelsea Rae | 31 Corn Lane, Accessories, Earrings, Handbags, Rings, Totes | Wednesday, 28 May 2008

Pink Rock Candy, 31 Corn Lane, hot air balloon bag, feather earring, strawberry ring

I know it’s been many, many moons, but I was abducted by Pinocchio look-a-likes and forced to be a real girl for a while. They made me plan ahead, go grocery shopping, and go to work. I escaped using pixie dust and happy thoughts, so now I’m back and jonesing for something super fun, and what’s more fun than fighting Captain Hook neon colors, plastic jewelry, and hot air balloons? I couldn’t think of anything either— that’s why I give you my favorites from one of the most funnest (yes!) companies I know, 31 Corn Lane!

Technically, the most fun any one person can have, or just the most fun I could have, would be at the top of a super high roller coaster, sitting in the front of the train, about to plunge to my adrenaline-charged potential doom. Since I’m nowhere near Cedar Point and the Millinium Force Roller Coaster, I’m going to hope someone decides to take me on a hot air balloon ride or just know of my love of heights and giant bags and buy me this beyond adorable ‘Woah Balloons! SuperShopper Bag’. Getting my hands on either one of the ‘Woah Balloons!’ bags (there’s a tote too!), would definitely make up for the fun I missed out on when my town carnival decided to shut down before they even opened it. Bummer!

I also really like the ‘Solid Big Bling Berry Ring’. Nothing screams summer fun like a juicy, fist-sized strawberries. I’m talking about the kind of strawberries that drip juice down your chin and stain your face, fingers, and new white shirt. For a cleaner version they can be set atop yummy crêpes or crème brûlée or just turned to plastic and place on your finger. This ring would make me reminisce sweetly about my favorite desserts at anytime of the day, and if I’m swiped by those darn marionettes again, I’ll have happy thoughts right on my finger.

Last but not least, my favorite of favorites is the ‘Pink Preppy-Punk Pocahontas Style Single Earring’. Feathers are undoubtedly my new obsession— sorry pirate-themed anything— but, who knew Pocahontas could be preppy and 80s punk at the same time. I don’t usually wear earrings, but technically this is just ONE earring, so it doesn’t really count.

I’ll be back tomorrow, but for now I’m going to hula hoop, play with Power Ranger action figures, and dominate at 4-Square!

What are the things you wish you could still do from when you were just a lil’ tyke?

Ode to Mulberry’s Roxanne Tote

Chelsea Rae | Accessories, Handbags, Totes | Thursday, 21 February 2008

Pink Rock Candy, pinkrockcandy.net, Mulberry - Roxanne Toe, Peaches Geldof, Pixie Geldof

Oh Mulberry’s Roxanne Tote, how I love thee…

Your ginormousness would allow me to carry my life in an infinitely stylish bag. I could probably even hide a cute gentleman within, in the event that I see one to my liking. Carrying such objects would obviously necessitate the hiring of a great chiropractor, but this I will overlook. With such girth, I could hide modestly behind you like Peaches or gloat about your icy-freshness as does feisty Pixie. How wonderful you would be in my Easter basket (or as my Easter basket).

If you were mine, I would caress thy front pockets, and maybe place a lipstick or two within. And your gleaming facade— I would never be able to disguise my conceit with such a reflective bag at my side (good my hair is still in place).

Black, red, navy, or white, if the week were four days I would buy one for every day of the week, but since it’s not, I think I’ll ask the Easter Bunny to just bring me a black red navy white one.

I wounder if there is a Mulberry store near his bunny hole, or would he just purchase it online like the rest of us (after all he has no elves to build things for him). Excuse me while I go write a nice email to the Easter Bunny, making sure he receives my request in time for the big day!

Gryson for Target

Chelsea Rae | Accessories, Handbags, Target | Wednesday, 28 November 2007

Gryson Handbag, Joy GrysonTarget is on a never ending quest to find great designers to collaborate with. They’ve taken the term capsule collection and run with it. After having quite a few successful collaborations with accessories designers like Devi Kroell, Hollywould, Dominique Cohen, and soon Loeffler Randal, they have decided to launch a line with Joy Gryson.

The accessories line will launch sometime in 2008, but according to Fashion Week Daily, they are previewing the line to long lead press (a.k.a. magazines) on December 12th.

Joy Gryson started her line Gryson in 2006 after being the director of design for the Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs handbag and accessories lines. If you know anything about the Marc Jacobs & Marc by Marc handbags, you’d know they’re amazing, and the bags I’ve seen of hers are very reminiscent of those designs. The ‘Layla’ bag from the fall 2007 season is absolutely radiant. Giant, chocolate brown, Italian calf-skin leather totes tend to make me swoon.

For more information on Gryson visit gryson.com.

31CL Brings us Hearts and Horses

Chelsea Rae | 31 Corn Lane, Accessories, Handbags, Necklaces, Totes | Wednesday, 19 September 2007

31 Corn Lane - Hearts and Horses CollectionEven after many many moons, and blog posts for that matter, we at PRC are still smitten with 31 Corn Lane. They may be our absolute fave fun tote makers. They never disappoint when it comes to super-cute bags, and this season is no different. This Fall the Sperber Pony Gang is bringing you ponies, what else!

Just a bit of background, the Sperber’s love love love ponies, and so do Blythe and I. When we were little our grandma’s boyfriend told us he would get us a pony one day; unfortunately he never did. We were still stoked out of our minds even if it was a fib.

Now is our chance to get our hands on a pony, even if it is in the form of an extra adorable tote or necklace. I totally give the ‘Hearts and Horses Shoulder Bag’ 2 1/2 thumbs up. I’ve been looking for a good brown tote, and this nifty shoulder bag fits the bill. Its not too serious, because who wants that; plus, we hear being too serious gives you wrinkles. It also has a that extra cute pony on the front pocket, you have no idea how giddy it makes me. I also really like the ‘Hearts and Horses Charm Necklace’ its a less obvious way to show the world you still want a pony even though you technically fit into big girl shoes now. I love that 31CL always finds a way to bring me back to the best parts of my childhood!

They Get Better with Age

Rimistyle: Summer Blowout Sale

Remember when I said Rimistyle was one of the best all-accessory webstores on line? Well, that wasn’t a lie, and they get even better with each season because they constantly have giant blowout sales. This time they’re getting rid of all they’re super cute summer accessories to make room for equally cute fall accessories. This is your chance to get that rad necklace or bag you saw but couldn’t quite afford at more than half the price. I’m stoked!

Wanna know another great thing about sales? Most of the time there are items on sale that are supposedly last season but can be used for the current season too. I found some great items on Rimistyle that are perfect for any season. If you’re willing to spend a bit you could get this classy sequined straw clutch for under $50. I’m a giant fan of clutches even though my hands get tired sometimes. I’m also relatively careless when it comes to determining what should be worn for day and night when it comes to accessories. I tend to where whatever, whenever.

If your budget is a little tighter you can get some superb jewelry for less than 15 bucks! When buying jewelry my rule of thumb is to stay as neutral in color as possible so you can mix-and-match; if I don’t do this I tend to buy one in every color to go with every outfit. My cheapy choices:

Semi-gaudy necklace and earrings set…check!
Earrings that will match the necklace, but can go with anything else…double check!

If you buy any of the great pieces from Rimistyle, please share. We’d love to see all your amazing finds!

The Next Best Thing

Chelsea Rae | Accessories, Handbags, Totes | Thursday, 06 September 2007

They always come up with the cutest things at the Fred Flare headquarters, and this ‘Hot Dog Tote Bag’ is no exception!

Why It Caught Our Eye: We love puppies, especially little ones that can fit in our bags, but unfortunately right now we can’t have a puppy. We figure the next best thing to actually having a super-cute Dotson is this bag. After all, we won’t even have to worry about carrying any extra weight because the pup’s on the bag not in it.

Why We Want It: We are always on the look out for large, fun totes during the school year; we like things tons of space so we can carry all of our favorite magazines to class. This tote is definitely big enough to fill with mags, and we could probably even squeeze a few books in there too. We also love the back of the tote because the doxie’s super long body creates a heart. Its so adorable, we can’t stand it!

What’s in Christibelle’s Closet?

Chelsea Rae | Accessories, Clutches, Dresses, Handbags, Shirts, Shoes | Monday, 03 September 2007

Everyone loves designer clothes. They are usually beautiful and well made, plus, who doesn’t love doing a little designer name-dropping every now and then. The only catch with designer clothing is not everyone can afford it. The exclusivity makes it sought after, but every girl (and boy) deserves to have at least on piece of clothing we know won’t fall apart after one wash, and that’s where Christibelle’s Closet comes into play.

Christabelle’s Closet sells high-end new or lightly worn clothing, shoes and accessories for great prices. This is the kind of place where you can buy a DVF cocktail dress for $100 and a Moschino Jeans tee for $35. The only catch to great items like these is the limited number in stock, so there is no time for hesitation.

Christina Carathanassis, the owner of Christibelle’s Closet, not only loves finding the perfect designer dress for cheap, she and her fashionistas are ready and willing to share their consigning and fashion secrets with the world:

“Weeding is not just for your backyard garden! Sift through your closets and follow the two year rule…if you have not worn it in 2 years - you never will. GET RID OF IT. An organized fashionista is a happy fashionista!” -Mammabelle

Another plus you’ll find onChristibelle’s is the “Clearance Closet”. Here, everything has super low prices, and all the profits go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation which is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson’s.

Low-priced designer clothes, great advice, and an entire section where all profits go to charity, what more can a girl ask for?

DIY ‘Stuff’

Chelsea Rae | Accessories, Bracelets, Events, Handbags, Necklaces, News, Shoes, T-Shirts | Friday, 10 August 2007

A necklace I’ve had for a while recently broke. I hadn’t actually worn it in years, but I really liked the beads. So my fix was to go to Michaels and get some other beads so I could create a few new necklaces. The necklaces actually turned out really pretty considering it was my first necklace making experience, and I’ve been thinking of making more for fun.

Hilary Duff obviously knows how much fun craft projects can be because she has created her own line of Stuff by Hilary Duff DIY projects for Michaels. The DIY collection includes more than 40 Duff inspired products including chain link bracelets, vintage-inspired charms, iron-on graphics, studs, and stones.

If you aren’t really the crafty type, make sure to mark August 26th from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on your calenders. There will be complimentary in-store demonstrations giving you great ideas of different ways to use the Stuff by Hilary Diff collection in all stores around the US and Canada. It must be part of some sort of “no crafter left behind” project Michaels has created, but I’m not complaining. I like free demonstrations!

We Wanna Know: What are your favorite craft projects?
