If anyone was in love with the Madewell scarf from the Coutorture giveaway last week quite as much as I was, I have more good news. Madewell pieces are featured in the January 2008 (’08 already!) issues of Glamour, Marie Claire, Lucky, and Harper’s Bazaar. The section of Lucky they are featured in is called “Lucky Breaks”, and in it, not only do you see some of Madewell’s fabulous pieces of clothing including their gorgeous ‘Royal Dress’ and their ‘Garment-dyed Rail-Straight’ jeans which are favored by stars and fashionistas alike, Madewell is offering readers a discount.
If you subscribe to Lucky, or just happen to have the January 2008 issue lying around, you can take it to any Madewell shop near you and get 25% off your entire order. There are Madewell stores in NYC, Los Angeles, Dallas, Austin, Las Vegas, Natick, MA, and Short Hills, NJ. If none of those locations are near you, you can order over the phone and again get 25% off your order!
Visit the Madewell website for store information and telephone numbers: www.madewell1937.com.
There’s a new kind of vintage out there, and its called Trashy Vintage. Actually, Trashy Vintage is an ebay auction/soon-to-be-webstore that sells really rad vintage pieces. The great people at the Trashy Vintage headquarters are trying to help you get a head start on all of that holiday shopping. How? They’re giving you a discount, and having a discount on vintage prices is such a great deal.
From now until February 1st, 2008, you can get $5 off any purchase of $25 or more (that is not including S&H). Just send a message to Crystal on ebay with the code DEARSANTA, and voila! A revised invoice will be sent to you showing the discount. This can’t be combined with any other offers, discounts, or coupons (sorry!).
Right now Trashy Vintage is still in the ebay auction format, but that definitely doesn’t take away from the hipness of the clothes. They are also working on their new website as we speak. Since you’re buying their vintage finds on ebay, my suggestion is, if you’ve never bid on anything on ebay, scope out the items you want, and then wait until the last minute to bid in an attempt to be the last bidder and win the booty.
For more information and to see what’s new each week visit the Trashy Vintage website, ebay store, and myspace.
Black Friday is perhaps the scariest day of the year. It is when great sales drive the bold to brave the elements, crowds, lines, and fights over the last of items. Many, many shoppers will come home empty handed because they got to a store too late, even more will come home with frost bite because they got to a store hours before it opened and waited outside in freezing temperatures, and some, those brave few, will come home with all the booty they’ve ever wanted, a black eye, and a bloody nose. I, though, am not one of the courageous.
I truly fear going out of my house on Black Friday. I would much rather watch marathons of my favorite shows and eat Thanksgiving leftovers. I know I’m not alone in this, and that is why I’m am very excited to hear about “Cyber Monday.” “What’s Cyber Monday?” you ask. Its the same thing as Black Friday, except for the e-commerce stores. The technical Urban Dictionary definition is, “Cyber Monday is the Monday after Black Friday, when online retailers will be looking for their biggest sales from those who checked out products over the Thanksgiving weekend, and will now be ordering them Monday at work.” So, before you hit the e-tail stores hard on Monday, here is a list of some stores that are participating:

There are so many places online to buy great clothes, but there are very few places on the web to buy great clothes AND not spend a ton of money. If you’re looking to get well made clothes for less, head no further than Lulu’s Fashion Lounge. We talked about Lulu’s before, but we honestly just can’t get enough. This time we challenged ourselves to find a rad outfit for school or for just hanging around costing less than $100, and guess what?
Mission accomplished!
A lot of times when people think of finding an outfit they think just clothes, but we not only were able to find clothes, we found shoes and accessories too. We really like the Solemio tunic, the art on the shirt is stellar, but our favorite find was the platform high heels for only $16.00. When does that ever happen?
The rad folks a Lulu’s are also giving PRC readers a 15% discount until October 15th. All you have to do is punch in pink rock candy at checkout and voila! Peep the entire outfit below, and tell us what you would buy with those extra eight bucks!
