Yesterday, I received a press release concerning the über-talented Nigel Barker and a photo exhibit he is having called ‘A Sealed Fate’. Obviously, since everyone love Nigel, he’s probably the only reason I’ve watched every episode of ANTM, everyone’s talking about the exhibit. So, In case you’ve missed it, here are the details. Continue Reading…

I find great pleasure in working. I know that sounds quite odd, but the fact of the matter is, I like to shop and with out money I can’t shop and without work I have no money, hence the reason I like work. Did that make sense? I have two quasi jobs, one is an office job and the other is being a hostess/whatever else needs to be done at a bistro by my house. For the most part, working in an office and a restaurant doesn’t leave much room for outfit creativity, but for both jobs I do try to bring my own personal touches into the standard semi-professional look. Continue Reading…

There are things about the fashion industry that still make me scratch my head. Why can’t short girls become super models when half the time people like Mary-Kate and Ashley look just as good in designer clothes as most models— there is a little process I like call hemming. Also, why are most women’s wear models barely women? Everyone wants fresh-faced models, but if I were a casting director I’d want experience. As gorgeous as young models like Lily C, Daria, and Stam are, they can’t touch models with experience like Kate and Iman. Continue Reading…

I was tagged by Vain & Vapid and when I found out it had to do with music, I was so excited, but then I got bogged down. What sort of music should I choose? Are old songs still a legit “songs I’m into right now”? This honestly ate at me this entire time, and not only that I just couldn’t pare down the songs I love listening to. Though most of the songs on my iTunes can be categorized in the rock genre, just scrolling through all of the songs you’ll realize I pretty much like every genre of music, so where was I supposed to start? Well, with the rules, I guess! Continue Reading…

My answer to this question is usually a confused look and a sweet “nope” followed by a girlie chuckle, if that’s possible. I’m starting to understand why people ask my heritage, because not do I usually wear my hair very straight, but I like to put fun headbands in my hair making me look more Native American, than I actually am. Continue Reading…

When I was younger MASH (the game, not the show) was the best way to blow 15 minutes of class time, and according to at least one of my MASH plays, I’m supposed to marry someone famous, have 2 kids, drive an Aston Martin, and live in a shack— you can’t win ‘em all!
Its obvious to anyone who checks in on PRC every now and then, but I just have to put it out there. The PRC readers (that’s you!) are some of the coolest people ever! Many of them write there own rad blogs that I read pretty much on a daily basis, others own awesome clothing stores (online or not), and then there are the ones who are just fabulous in their own right because they love everything about fashion and sometimes even take the designing into their own hands. Carrie, a fab PRC reader, falls into the latter. Continue Reading…

Remember about a year ago I told you about those semi-ugly flip flops called the FitFlop. To be blunt, their claim to fame was toning your ass while you walked. Everyone, myself include, thought the idea was genius, but I just couldn’t make myself spend money on a shoe that looked so sporty— I don’t even wear sneakers for goodness sake! Well, the good people at Bliss must have heard my please for style and are hopping on the gladiator bandwagon. Continue Reading…

There comes a time in everyone’s life when they’re asked to define their style. If asked now, I would have no idea what to say. This is the same for most people, and the answer that usually comes out is, “I just wear what feels right,” or something along those lines, but when Nylon asked model, Valentine Fillol-Cordier, to describe her style she said, “Coco Chanel, if she were Kurt Cobain’s grandma.” I fell in love with that answer and kicked myself for not thinking of something witty like that before or even now for that matter. The mysterious Granny Coco Cobain has been drifting through my consciousness ever since I read that quote, and while flipping through the July 2008 issue of Elle, I found a dress that embodies her. Continue Reading…

It’s almost my birthday! Actually, THAT’S A BIG LIE because my birthday’s in November, but it feels like it’s almost my birthday. Why? Because in four days Viva la Vida comes out, and once again, the world will be perfect. I think I’m going to throw my own personal Viva La Vida dance party in my bedroom on Tuesday morning (now that I think about it, Tuesday’s actually my mom’s birthday). Its seems to me like the world, and not just my world, is revolving around Coldplay, and I’m ready to be a lemming and follow the trend— that is unless the album’s terrible, though that’s doubtful. Continue Reading…

Most days I scold my mom for wearing matching pants suits, and she reciprocates by telling me I have on too many different colors, that black and brown doesn’t match, or that I should be wearing pantyhose to work— blah! Though we may have our differences when it comes to clothes, she has an awesome shoe collection, and more often than not, I find myself playing in her shoes like I did when I was little. Then there are those times when I think, wow, my mom is so snazzy— because that’s what I want to be when I’m 40-something— and yesterday was one of those days. Continue Reading…
